Bishan Station and Circle Line
Bishan Station
As part of the MRT Circle Line project, two of the existing North-South Line platforms at Bishan station are being retrofitted with 24 platform screen doors designed, manufactured and installed by Westinghouse Platform Screen Doors.
In addition a new North-South Line station design will be consistent with that of the Circle Line design chosen by the LTA.
Installation has been carried out during non-traffic hours so that the line remains operational during normal revenue service hours. Work is due to be completed this year.
Circle Line - Singapore
The 34km long Circle Line (CCL), comprising 27 stations, will create a fully underground orbital link around Singapore with interchanges to the existing North-South, East-West and North East Lines.
Westinghouse Platform Screen Doors are supplying STE with a total of 648 doorways on 54 platforms and a dual redundant ‘PSD200’ controlling system. MODbus protocol is used to communicate status information and non-vital commands.
The fully automated Circle Line, started in 2006, will be built in 5 stages and is due for final completion in 2010.
