Phase 1
Designed to reduce traffic congestion and meet the mobility needs of a busy city, the Shenzhen Master Plan includes the development of a sustainable and integrated transport system.
The Mass Transit Rail (MTR) system is at the core of this plan. Phase 1 of the project was opened on 28 December 2004 and comprises 15 stations on the East-West Line 1 and 5 stations on the North-South Line 4. Platforms are almost 140m long to accept the Bombardier 6 car 5-door trains.
